Belimo R540 is a 3-way changeover ball valve DN 40 with G 2 1/4" external thread, PN 25 and Kvs 32 m³/h. Designed for changeover and open/close control on the water side of ventilation and heating systems.

Medium: water or water with max. 50% vol. glycol. Medium temperature: -10...100°C [14...212°F].

Belimo R540 – technical data

3-way changeover ball valve with external thread, designed for open and closed water systems. The body is made of nickel-plated brass.

  • Type: R540; DN 40; connection G 2 1/4"; PN 25.
  • Kvs: 32 m³/h; flow through bypass B – AB: approx. 50% of the Kvs value.
  • Medium: water, water with max. 50% vol. glycol; potable water on request.
  • Medium temperature: -10...100°C [14...212°F].
  • Maximum differential pressure ∆pmax: 400 kPa; closing pressure ∆ps: 1400 kPa. 200 kPa is specified for quiet operation.
  • Leakage: A – AB bubble-tight, leakage rate class A; B – AB leakage rate class I, max. 1% of the Kvs value.
  • Rotation angle: 90°. Closing element and stem: stainless steel.

Installation instructions

Permitted installation position: from vertical to horizontal relative to the stem; installation with the stem pointing downwards is not permitted. Observe the flow direction indicated by the arrow on the body.

At a medium temperature of -10...2°C, an extended valve neck is recommended. The permitted medium temperature may depend on the actuator type; refer to the relevant actuator data sheets for limitations.
