Belimo R3040-16-S3 – 3-way control valve

A control valve with a control orifice for closed water systems, designed to regulate flow on the water side of ventilation and heating systems. The valve is positioned by a rotary actuator.

Key features and parameters

• Design: 3-way; DN 40; PN 25.
• Connection: Rp 1 1/2" female thread.
• Kvs: 16 m³/h; flow through bypass B – AB: 70% of the Kvs value.
• Medium: water, water with max. 50% vol. glycol; medium temperature: -10...120°C [14...248°F].
• Differential pressure: ∆pmax 350 kPa; closing pressure: 1400 kPa. A differential pressure of 200 kPa is specified for quiet operation.
• Flow characteristic: A – AB equal percentage, B – AB linear.
• Tightness: A – AB bubble-tight, leakage rate class A; B – AB leakage rate class I, 1...2% of the Kvs value.
• Body made of nickel-plated brass; closing element and stem made of stainless steel.

Installation instructions

Permitted mounting position: from vertical to horizontal relative to the valve axis; installation with the axis pointing downwards is not permitted. Observe the flow direction indicated by the arrow on the body.

For medium temperatures of -10...2°C, stem heating or a valve neck extension is recommended. The permitted medium temperature may depend on the actuator type; limitations are specified in the relevant actuator data sheets.
