Feed conveyor control cabinet

Control cabinet for a chain-and-disc or auger feed conveyor. Combines protection, a contactor, a switch and a timer circuit in a single enclosure, allowing the use of only one feed sensor in the feeder. The timer circuit reduces contact wear by eliminating brief motor starts and extends the service life of the mechanical system by limiting the maximum operating time in the event of feed depletion.

Parameters and features:

  • Motor thermal protection
    • FC-T2A5P – (1,6 – 2,5)A
    • FC-T4AP – (2,5 – 4)A
  • Integrated power contactor 6A
  • Operating mode selector AUTO – OFF – MANUAL
  • Start delay 0 - 10 min
  • Delayed shutdown in the absence of feed 10 – 60 min
  • Circuit breaker in the control circuit
  • Input for a safety limit switch
  • Compatibility with passively powered capacitive sensors
  • Sealed enclosure IP65
  • Low power consumption:
    • 0,6W standby
    • 2,3W operation

Operation

Manual operation

The system starts immediately and operates until it is switched off, the safety limit switch opens or the motor thermal protection trips.

Automatic operation

When the sensor detects feed depletion in the feeder, it sends a start signal. If the safety limit switch is closed, the feed conveyor control cabinet starts timing T1 (start delay) within the range 0-10min. Once the specified time T1 has elapsed, the feed conveyor motor starts and operates until the feed sensor signals that the feeder is full. If there is no feed in the storage bin, the motor will be switched off after the maximum operating time T2 within the range 10-60min. The feed conveyor can be restarted after the feed has been replenished and the system has been switched off and back on.

danger

Changing the time settings T1,T2 requires the system to be switched off and back on.

Notes and warnings

  • Read the instructions before operating the device.
  • The power supply must be switched off before opening the device cover.
  • The device must be powered from a mains supply with the protective earth circuit connected.
  • Hazardous voltages are present on all internal components and terminals of the device and may persist for up to one minute after the power supply is switched off.
  • Prevent any objects, liquids or moisture from entering the device.
  • Set the required current on the thermal protection device. A setting that is too high may result in motor damage; a setting that is too low may cause the feed conveyor to shut down.
